About Pradeep Puravankara
A pioneering media professional and dynamic entrepreneur with over two decades of transformative leadership in the Middle East, specifically within the Kingdom of Bahrain. From launching trailblazing broadcasting and print ventures to driving high-impact community initiatives for the Global Keralite diaspora, Pradeep seamlessly blends a rich cultural heritage with a modern, global vision for media, business development, and human capital.
Pradeep’s journey as an expatriate professional began in 2003 when he stepped into the role of Bahrain Correspondent for Asianet News—a milestone supported by P. Unnikrishnan, Chairman of Strategic Publicity and Advertising Company (SPAC). Driven by a passion for narrative and communication, he quickly became a pioneering voice in regional broadcasting. By 2006, he was serving as the Program Director for Radio Voice 104.2, Bahrain’s first Asian radio channel, where his engaging daily programs and high-profile interviews with global personalities earned him widespread acclaim.…
In 2012, the management at SPAC appointed Pradeep to lead their next major media venture: conceiving and launching 4PM NEWS. Tasked with managing this historic initiative from the ground up, he successfully established the Middle East’s very first evening newspaper. Today, that legacy thrives across major digital platforms, remaining a benchmark for reputable, trusted journalism in the region. His editorial leadership extends further as the Executive Editor for both 4PM NEWS and www.newsofbahrain.com, the digital counterpart of The Daily Tribune English Newspaper.
Beyond the newsroom, Pradeep is deeply committed to community transformation and professional development. In 2010, he co-founded the Pravasi Guidance Forum (PGF) alongside international life skills coach Dr. John Panackel. Growing into one of Bahrain’s most influential socio-cultural organizations, PGF proudly serves as an official representative entity for NORKA (the Government of Kerala’s NRI Welfare Project).
Translating this passion for human capital into corporate success, Pradeep co-founded PIXGEN Frame Work WLL in 2025 alongside corporate trainer Biju Thomas, establishing a premier hub for strategic business consultancy, educational support services, and event management. Expanding his entrepreneurial footprint, he also established Press Ready Company WLL (PR Company) alongside Mr. Roopesh V.K., delivering essential corporate and lifestyle solutions including Office Support, Real Estate, and Vehicle-Related Services across Bahrain.
Born in Kanhangad, Kasaragod district, Kerala, Pradeep’s worldview was shaped by a profound cultural and literary upbringing. As the eldest son of Shri K.P. Prabhakaran Nambiar, a distinguished writer and insurance expert, and Smt. Geetha Prabhakaran, he was raised in an environment where media and literature were the foundational pillars of daily life.
Pradeep is married to journalist Begena George, and they are the proud parents of three daughters: Sukrutha, Dhwani, and Janani. While his sibling, Anoop Puravankara, pursues an engineering career in Sydney, Australia, Pradeep and his family are happily settled in Kakkanad, Kochi, from where he continues to bridge global media trends with grassroots community impact.
